Diabetes Care in the Philippines
This country has limited resources for diabetes care and education as well as a lack of insulin, healthcare professionals and education.

Staged Diabetes Management Update
International Diabetes Center has trained 50 endocrinologists and other specialists in SDM.

Plans are in the works to train an additional 100-200 physicians, to add diabetes educators to the team approach and to customize SDM materials for use in the Philippines.

Another goal is to help the Ministry of Health and the Diabetes Association in the Philippines to establish improved standards of care for diabetes patients.
