News: Updated recommendations from ACCORD trial

National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute announced Feb. 6, 2008, it has stopped the intensive glucose treatment within a large, ongoing clinical trial around diabetes and cardiovascular disease, due to safety concerns. The study is known as the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) trial. Learn more

International Diabetes Center at Park Nicollet’s treatment algorithm for glucose control in type 2 diabetes is now available. Health fair for kids with diabetes

Park Nicollet Clinic and International Diabetes Center are offering a free, “Back to School Health Fair” Thursday, Aug. 7. Parents can complete required health forms for the upcoming school year and talk with diabetes experts. Children get to meet others with diabetes and participate in fun, interactive activities and games. Learn more
